Shanghai Luodian Project
The Luodian Project is located in Baoshan District, north of Shanghai's city centre, covering a site area of approximately 6.8 million sqm, with land earmarked for residential accounting for 34.9%, commercial 44.7% and public amenities 20.4%. Luodian town is one of the 'nine towns' in the 'One City, Nine Towns' development plan launched by the Shanghai City Government in June 2001 to encourage suburban development aiming to relieve the increasing congestion in the Shanghai city centre. It is also the new town closest to the city centre. The Shanghai Government signed contracts with 9 groups of different developers, each of whom took one new town development project in one of these 9 districts, aiming to attract residents to move from downtown area to the suburban area.
